The rendering API doesn't really care, but in gltf the winding order is counterclockwise. This is reversed if you flip a mesh by scaling it by a negative amount, either along one axis or on all three.

Adding hand-made collision to the large ships so that fighters cannot fly through them.
I tweaked the model editor so it can load in models to define collision shapes.
There now is an XRay mode that lets you see wireframe of the ship with colored rendering of collision shapes.
To debug collision in th…
I'm working on my model loader which uses assimp to convert to a common proprietary file format. I know that Assimp separates multi-material meshes into different meshes per material. To work around this, before I used to simply combine consider all the meshes as submeshes in the model file upon im…
@undefined Oh yeah, I’ve been using blender for about a week, I have so many weird issues with the retopology, the lines and some faces just disappear on me and it’s frustrating, so I end up stopping, but thanks for the tips, i need to learn the defusing colors etc of it, been watching vids.
I want to get better at writing code at the GPU level -- for people who are experts at writing code at this level and optimizing operations, what kind of steps/resources did you use to learn?
As a related question, do you think GPU experts are in high demand at AI companies/startups, or is the deman…
It's a little strange that he uses HLSL to calculate projected size and not C++.
You can't pick and choose different lod in hlsl, you can only deal with individuals vertx or pixels.
But I suppose he used hlsl code for demonstration.
Anyway.
Hello! I'm the leader of a small team located in Indiana that is trying to develop a simple exploration-based horror game in the vein of LSD Dream Emulator or Yume Nikki. We currently have four team members (not including myself) and we need a 3D modeler as ours had to leave the group. As the title…

Pivot point transformation is the object space transformation of 0,0,0 point of object space, meaning identity transformation of pivot point will result in 0,0,0 point of object space, which is the world space position if in world space. You can center this pivot point to AABS, AABB or move i…
Bump, I'm still having the issue :|.
Hi Guys,
I would like to introduce you to a new model format which is ideal for beginners:
https://bztsrc.gitlab.io/model3d
Of course a format alone won't do any good to you, so it comes with a complete ecosystem which has your back covered on all fronts:
- has a very capable, multiplatform converter ut…
